Airport Info
Fly into La Aurora International Airport (GUA) in Guatemala City. This is the closest international airport to the town of Antigua.
Please note, Antigua, Guatemala is NOT the Caribbean Island of Antigua. Double-check bookings to avoid mix ups.
Do I need a Visa?
Most U.S., Canadian, U.K passport holders do not need a visa for short tourist stays (typically up to 90 days). Your passport should be valid for at least six months beyond your travel dates.
If you hold a different passport, please check your country’s entry requirements before traveling.
When should I arrive?
We recommend arriving by Friday at the latest; but earlier in the week if you'd like to join us for welcome cocktails and other activities.
Getting to Antigua
Airport: La Aurora International Airport (GUA) in Guatemala City
We recommend using a private shuttle service or hotel transfer to drive between Guatemala City and Antigua (35 min - 1.5 hours depending on traffic). Please see below for information on shuttle reservations.
Should I rent a car?
No, renting a car is not recommended. Our wedding events are all within easy reach of each other. The best way to get around Antigua is via Uber, shuttles, and of course exploring on foot. We recommend a private shuttle to get from Guatemala City to Antigua, please see the transportation tab.
Airport Shuttle
We are working with Antigua Tours to book your private airport shuttles along with other various tour reservations you'd like to make.
What is the dress code?
Black Tie. Dress up, go bold, and don’t hold back, it's a celebration after all! As a note, we recommend ladies avoid stiletto heels as there is some cobblestone around the property.
Is the ceremony outside
Yes! Weather permitting, our ceremony will take place outside at Villa Bokéh with reception just steps away.
What is the spoken language?
Spanish is the primary language. English is widely spoken at hotels, restaurants, and tourist services.
Cultural Traditions
Our wedding will blend Lebanese, American, and Guatemalan traditions. We invite you to celebrate alongside us even in traditions that may be new to you.
Why Antigua, Guatemala?
It's a beautiful town, rich in culture and popular with visitors from around the world. Antigua also holds a special place in Annalyse's heart as it's her Great Grandmother's hometown and still a central hub for her family today. In 2025 Amjed and Annalyse were able to visit countries that mean the most to each of them, Lebanon and Guatemala, sharing in each other's heritage and family traditions.
Can I take photos during the ceremony?
No. We kindly ask that you leave your phones off during our ceremony.
Are children allowed at the wedding?
This is an adults only affair. We are happy to recommend local childcare services if you plan to travel with your little ones.
Activities for Visitors
Antigua has endless activities for tourists, from shopping, to walking tours, to volcano hikes, to coffee farm visits. We will share more recommendations soon, but you're welcome to book private tours and experiences with Antigua Tours here.
